Please find in our events calendar events that are been run in 2012. These events are at our Club House at Highfield. Look out for road signs for this event to guide you to our car park and the enterance to Highfield. If you have a radio controled boat or truck then look out for our open days come along and bring your models. We also have a 5 inch and 7 1/4 raised railway line running round the club site so if you are a loco man and fancy a change of track then come along. (proof of insurance and boiler cert must be shown). Catering is provided by our ladies to a high standard. All home cooking. Our event start around 11am and run until the last man/lady goes home. |

The society held its AGM for 2010 and it showed a very healthy balance sheet with 59 members rejoining for the 2011 season. The president remains as Mr M Day this been a second year of office. The committee will decide who will become the new club secretary as Mr M Carter stood down after holding the office for the last twelve months. Mr R Bolton has stated he will stand again for treasurer but again this will be decided by the committee. The ladies provided the lunch which was meat and potato pie with fruit pie and custard all for £3.00. |

At this moment in time Highfields is one big event on the development side. We are at present building a new toilet block and workshop. This work has been funded by a grant which we were lucky to be granted with from the lottery board. Our members over the summer months have been busy on a weekend taking the track down building walls and erecting the concrete toilet block. We have had some outside help from a local builder which without his help we would still be digging out just to lay the water pipe. Our ladies have been supplying the tea/coffee and the lunch. We hope to have completed most of the work before the winter sets in so all it will leave us to do is a little landscapeing.
Our next project will be to get the track back up and running which over the years has been very popular with our visitors to the club from around the area and further a field.
We hope to hold three monthly meetings once again for old and new members so watch out for the dates which will appear on this site in the near future.
A great deal of work over the summer months has been done down at Highfields to improve what was already in place. The track has been completed and we have had some members loco's running round it once again. We are down at Highfields every Saturday and Sunday so why not pop down and see us and if you fancy a bite to eat come on a Saturday when out ladies will provide you with a warm lunch and perhaps you could have a sail trying your hand at radio steering. |
